Eryk Anders Honored By Mayor Randall Woodfin

Beloved Alabama son Eryk "Ya Boi" Anders was honored by Mayor Randall Woodfin on January 30. Woodfin presented Anders with an official letter from Mayor's office congratulating him on his recent UFC win against Chris Weidman.
"I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your incredible victory at UFC 310 in Las Vegas," he wrote. "Defeating a former champion like Chris Weidman is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to your unwavering dedication, focus, and perseverance as a professional athlete."
Woodfin also made note of Anders' efforts while playing for the Crimson Tide. "As a proud Birmingham native, you continue to make our city shine on both national and global stag-es. From your instrumental role in the 2009 National Championship-winning Crimson Tide football team to your impressive career in the UFC, you have shown what it means to represent Birmingham with integrity, class, and sportsmanship."
Anders is scheduled to compete in the Summit Grappling Championships in between fighting in the UFC on March 8 at the Moody Civic Center.
