Last Call For Deontay Wilder? Scheduled To Fight Again In April

According to reports, Deontay Wilder is not quite done with boxing and is set to return in April on BLK Prime.

According to the same report, Wilder's opponent will be announced by manager/trainer Shelley Finkel in Los Angeles on this upcoming Saturday.

In November of last year Wilder posted a promo video on his Instagram account, addressing critics saying he was finished. The main theme of the video was how Wilder is no stranger to adversity, and no matter "how many times he gets knocked down, he gets right back up again."

It's a fitting theme, as Wilder is again being faced with adversity. However, he has never faced this type of adversity in his career before. Wilder has lost four of his last fights, and three out of four under new head Trainer Malik Scott.

Wilder was last in the ring in December of 24 and lost to Zhilei Zhang by fifth round knockout.

At 39 years old Wilder is clearly on the backend of his career, and every fight going forward will indicate just how much he has left.

A strong performance in April could give Wilder momentum to make one last run at Heavyweight significance. If he should continue that path, the hill to climb to another title is a VERY steep one. A current top 10 of heavyweights features the likes of Martin Bakole, Tyson Fury, Zhilei Zhang, Daniel Dubois, and Joseph Parker, just to name a few.

And of course, the first undisputed heavyweight in the 4 belt era.

Whoever, and whenever Wilder decides to fight again, watch closely, as you might be watching him for the last time.
