WATCH: Eryk Anders Gets TKO In Round 2 Against Chris Weidman
Eryk Anders said in his last fight against Jamie Pickett he overlooked his opponent and was too focused on getting the fight of the night bonus. He admitted that the prospect of the extra $50,000 dollars distracted him from performing at the level he's capable of.
“I knew I won, but I feel like he’s the guy that I should have put away," he told MMA Junkie. "That was a fight that I was looking to collect another $50 Gs off of, and maybe that’s part of the problem. I kind of slept on him a little bit and I’m over here thinking about what I’m going to with this extra $50 grand and waiting for that text (I got the bonus).”
He promised that he would take his next fight more seriously. And he did just that, beating the accomplished former champion Chris Weidman by TKO.
He closed the show by TKO at 4:51 in round 2.
